Hay and grain reports
Dairy Australia generates two reports to help farmers make informed decisions when buying hay and grain.
The hay and grain reports are commissioned by Dairy Australia to provide an independent and timely assessment of hay and grain markets in each dairy region.

Wheat prices are for the relevant stockfeed wheat available in a region (ASW, AGP, SFW1 or FED1) and F1 for barley.
Hay prices are based on shedded hay without weather damage, of good quality and colour. There is a wide variation in quality for hay, so prices are indicative for a mid-range product.
Prices are estimates based on delivery to dairy farms with allowance for freight, storage, and marketing costs, but exclusive of GST. It should be remembered that actual prices may vary for quality or other reasons.
The report is updated 40 weeks per year.
